IT’S OFFICIAL! WE HAVE A STUDENT OSCAR!
Out of thousands of submissions from around the world, Kamathipura Express, directed by Leon Korzyński, has made it into the final top three of the best student narrative films in the world and will compete for gold, silver or bronze at the Student Academy Awards!
This means one thing – the film is already guaranteed to win an award, and we will find out which medal the filmmakers take home at the September ceremony in Toronto. But that’s not the end of the good news. Every Student Academy Award winner automatically qualifies for consideration for the 99th Academy Awards® in the Live Action Short Film, Documentary Short Film or Animated Short Film categories. The entire team couldn’t be happier – and it’s easy to see why!
Huge congratulations also go to the team behind Kanaan, which, together with Kamathipura Express, previously made it into the Student Academy Awards Top 7. This is a historic achievement for the Warsaw Film School and Polish cinema.
TORONTO, HERE WE COME!
